There's a popular print out there that has been making waves on the fashion scene. Y'all know that one of the things that I love about fashion is that it offers alternatives to trends that maybe unflattering to some. For a modern take on the standard stripes, zig-zag prints in colors that are easier on the eyes are a "gotta-try!" I find them to be worn beautifully and sheerfully on trend-spotter, Elizabeth Olsen and on natural beauty, Jennifer Aniston's petite patterned silhouette. For your personal take on the trend, instead of vivid hues go for the b&w and finish off the look with all black pumps and little to no accessories.

Fashion has taken a flashback from the 1940s a particular trend that has been shown on the runways from New York Fashion Week and they are not going anywhere. Here to stay is the fitted top with a ruffled, a-line waist to a blouse or dress known as peplum detailing. This feminine, fanned out silhouette mastered by big screen beauty, Blake Lively, adds flare and flounce while hiding those unforgiving midsection areas. Being seen everywhere, peplum dresses and peplum tops are more popular and more versatile since it is capable of being worn with a multitude of bottoms that are straight, narrow and/or fitted. This ladylike look can be given more definition and draw the eye to the standout detail of the outfit by adding a thin belt before the fabric flares out. Add some retro charm by accentuating the trend with rich gem hues like emerald, ruby and royal blue or with demure dark pieces in blacks and charcoals for a mod ensemble that fuses with Chanel.

Now, I don't know about you but during these transitional temperatures when the cold is slowly going away but at the same time the heat is slowly coming in, I do not get a chance to enjoy most of those warmer days. Every time the weather is beautiful and warm and the sun is out and shinning bright, I'm stuck inside at work unable to enjoy the natural beauty of the day and the warmth from the sunshine. Well, there is a way for you to bring a little of that sunshine indoors, by way of wearing a delicious orange blazer or jacket. Now while this trend is fun and uplifting, it is far from the traditional. To keep this look office appropriate, remember to style it with classic ensembles. Whites, blacks and nudes are safe but will allow for the orange topper to standout. Dress the blazer for the daytime with a patterned sheath or blouse that has hints of orange. Or take an orange jacket out for a ride at night by creating a cohesive look with a fruity orange lip and a clutch or color-blocked platforms with matching orange tones. However, many like myself, may find this bold hue a little too fruitful. Opt for a more on-trend shade that has been very popular for the past spring and summer seasons: coral.

Luxurious looks ran rampant on the runway at New York Fashion Week and as a shiny alternative to sequins, lurex was the trend throughout many collections for fall. It's a little over-the-top to wear the exuberant fabric from head-to-toe but as a statement piece, I am all for it. To me, seeing these collections overwhelmed me with the thought of the Chirstmas holiday and if I was to ever try and rock this trend, which you all know I actually might do, I would find lurex to be a great option to wear for a nighttime soiree in the form of a cocktail dress or a mini skirt.

You will see below a few pieces from a preview from one of the fall runway collections, Marc Jacobs. At the Marc Jacobs Couture runway show, the designer went on the other end of the spectrum where he merged fashion with theater on a granduleur scale. He also incorporated with his fall collection, a sort of crazy, cartoony Victoriana style that was truly happy and spirit-lifting. With oversized fur hats and non-body-conscious shapes, this fifteen-minute parade was a thrill to watch as it took fashion and radically crossed it over into art.
