WTF? What's The Fashion? Boyfriend Crop Jeans

The boyfriend crop jeans have been winterized as the hottest jeans to be worn for the season. Made to fit a little looser, they are going to surpass this years previous fashion trends of standard cuts and fits of denim jeans from the skinnies to the flares. As a much cuter version of what the boys wear, the boyfriend crop jean have made an iconic approach for the trendy girl. With the various styles and washes, they are made to look exactly like what they're named to be- designed to look like you are wearing your significant other's jeans.
You will find that boyfriend crop jeans are to remind you of a boy who likes to go outside, play rough and get dirty. Most of them are distressed looking, torn with holes, have patches and heavy grinding for a more worn look that is actually quite on-trend.
With the boyfriend crop jeans, the fit is important. The cut is tight around the rear and relaxed or baggy throughout the thighs and legs with the openings cuffed or rolled at the bottom. Unlike the skinny jeans, the boyfriend crop jean is able to fit a wider range of body types. What makes the boyfriend such a hyped up style of denim is because of its effortless wear. Its casual look can be achieved simply by adding heels, sandals, boots or weekend-worthy sneakers.
These types of jeans are quite fun to put on but it must be remembered that even though they are inspired by the boys, they always need a woman's touch. You want to make it look like you borrowed them from your boyfriend, not raided his entire closet. Add at least one feminine piece to keep it comfortably chic instead of sloppy. Dress these jeans up with a cardigan draped over a sequined tank and wedges or kick back and relax in fitted layers like a cami underneath a graphic tee and flats.

WTF? What's The Fashion? Inkblot Prints

Beauty and brains . . . the complete package! Psychologist, Rorschach has apparently inspired many designers with his psychological creations and allowed us to test our fashion sense with the highly recognized personality inkblot prints. These 60s patterns have unexpectedly popped up on the preen and preppy frocks of the rich and famous. Of course, as a styling rule, with busy prints go for simple styling. Not totally psyched on the inkblot prints? Make your take on the trend by trying it out in a t-shirt version to test your personal fashion psyche.

WTF? What's The Fashion? Embellished Belts

Continuing on from yesterday's trend post, sparkly statement accessories have traveled from the neckline to the midsection with the use of an embellished belt. Accentuating that waistline while bedazzling that basic LBorWD is literally a cinch to accomplish when placing on a blingy belt. There isn't a need to spend more money on a sequined frock when you may have already hanging in your closet a simple dress in a solid shade. All you have to do is invest a little income in this overstated piece. Save even more money by simply pinning a flamboyant and vibrant brooch onto your ordinary belt, maybe the one you used to embellish your collar! See below in A Style Accessorized, to view where you can shop for a bold embellished belt so that you can marvel the masses in no time!

WTF? What's The Fashion? Embellished Collars

HELLO FABUNISTAS!!! I apologize for disappearing from you all the past few days via facebook, twitter and blogger. There are a lot of new and exciting things going on. I will be moving to Chicago next weekend meaning that I am wrapping up my business down here in San Antonio and networking with my connections up north. I've been freelancing for other websites which has been quite demanding, and I have finally finished submitting my articles to be published in the next issue of Bougie Magazine: The Elements Edition coming out by the end of this month featuring emerging designers, models and entrepreneurs. So excited! Among many other things- packing, moving, shopping, attending going away parties and spending as much time with my SATX family as possible before I go has been crazy, but I love it!

So here on today's WTF? I am going to give you a quick wardrobe update. Don't worry! I will be visiting each and everyone of you very very soon. You are the ones that make Style~ Spotlighted as successful as it is today. Thank you!

I know it's a bit late but I have noticed that celebrities everywhere since New Years have been showing off something sparkly especially within their accessories. From headbands to belts (post coming soon), celebrities are making their small wardrobe additions shine like the stars that they are. What is incredibly amazing about going for an embellished collar is that it's the perfect answer to that every-now-and-then question we have when staring into our jewelry box, "What necklace should I wear with this outfit?" Go glam in seconds by grabbing and clasping on an embellished brooch or pin that could be found at almost any craft or thrift store or sidewalk boutique for an inexpensive way to update any high-neck top you would want to wear that day.

WTF? What's The Fashion? Leather-Trimmed Outerwear

Take your plain old jacket or your tired old trench coat to full force. A touch of leather adds a tad of toughness when it's outlining your outerwear. Form an alliance of edginess with this trend by pairing the leather trim with a pair of leather leggings for a rough style that's cool and fashion-forward. Depending on the color of your coat, a dash of animals prints in a similar shade on your accessories, pumps or booties along with a simple LBD can take this edgy form of outerwear to more sophisticated levels. Channel your inner diva with some form-fitting skinny jeans tucked inside some knee-high leather boots and a cutting-edge leather satchel to give your outfit a more cohesive look.

WTF? What's The Fashion? Multi-Striped Dresses

Many spring collections seen on the runways from Chanel to Thakoon, had stripes stretching as far as the eye could see. But they added a new twist to the traditional stripe. Now, I do not have to reiterate to you that most of us think that horizontal stripes are our enemy but in essence, horizontal and vertical lines can elongate that troublesome midsection while simultaneously enhancing your blessings up top. With this ordinary pattern it can easily be transitioned into each season and into each occasion. To add a bit of maturity to this pattern, go for more muted hues in creams, grays and blacks. For a look that is a bit more cazh, an oversized tee worn over a fitted mini or boot cut jeans can do just the trick. However, a multi-striped dress that is fitted in the waist with foiled detailing or draping effects can allow for you to take this trend from working late to a dinner date.

WTF? What's The Fashion? Leopard-Printed Scarves

The leopard print can never go out of style and a long, soft scarf in neutral shades gives a look that's as fashionable as it is warm. This outfit wrapping accessory is very versatile with not only multiple looks but with multiple prints as well. A leopard scarf is quite stylish with stripes, posh with polka dots and fun with florals. While leopard printed scarves in natural brown shades are highly recommended for the season, a tasteful black, white and gray color palette will do just as well when you need a small and fun addition to your casual street ensemble.

WTF? What's The Fashion? Boots With The Fur-Trim

Shawty got them boots with the fur! There is a reason why this trend is still going strong. Fur-trimmed boots are furry, functional and fun. Especially in the middle of winter, why not wear something warm and cozy to keep those toes cradled and toasty? Perfect with a pair of leggings, jeggings and skinny jeans; fur-trimmed boots are easy to style and can practically go with every wardrobe staple you may have for this winter. If this fuzzy footwear is not already a winter staple in your closet, make it your next one immediately. Fur-real!

A Chapter from the Cosmetic Chronicles

Hairstyle Edition~ Braided Buns

Braids are absolutely the quintessential hairstyle for the summertime, but lately celebrities have been twisting and twirling their way to a braided bun hairstyle. Even though this style is more acceptable during the warmer days, this hairdo can be styled to be more winter-friendly. Place your plaited bun at the top of your head in a topknot like Gwen Stefani and Kim Kardashian. Or for a more demure yet equally chic look, mimic Elle Fanning's updo. This hairdo can give a dramatic, messy or young look created to fit any mood or ocassion that you are going for. For those attempting to pull together this braided beauty, the focus will be on your face so play it up with a bright and bold lip and door-knocker earrings to finish off this babydoll persona.

Trend-Set & Show-Stop

A gentleman’s suit in a lady’s wardrobe is a style that has been man-inspired but is woman-empowered. The menswear trend is sophisticated but has been taken up a notch by busting out with some sexiness, quite literally. With this trend that is borrowed from the boys and shows off the girls, this suit style will surely remind people whose wearing the pants and that she is all woman.
Since more is showing because less is being worn, ultimately means that less is more. There will not be a doubt of how blessed you are up top so it is wise to subtly show off your assets. Just the right amount of cleavage can add a seductive appeal. When the style calls for (or in this case) doesn’t call for a shirt, do not take away from a sultry plunging neckline by cutting it off with a bra. Since this time, showing some skin is the statement piece for this outfit, neutral shoes and simple accessories are more suitable for this elegant yet daring ensemble.

WTF? What's The Fashion? Contrast Sleeve Jackets

Just in time for late winter, outerwear with contrast sleeves in different colors and fabrics are a must-have for an updated winter wardrobe. Since the rage of jackets with leather sleeves has gained its popularity back in March of last year, we are now seeing them in a multitude of styles including a rocker hard-edge style or a tweed feminine-inspired jacket à la Kelly Rowland and Vivica A. Fox. My most favorite style of this two-tone jacket has to be the one Miss Tisdale is sporting. Soft shearling and supple suede would be just a dream to wear for a cozy comfy evening by the fireplace cuddled up with a good book or preferably a sweetie. It will definitely be easy to coordinate the rest of your outfit with a neutral shade bottom that can go along with one of the contrasting colors in the jacket.
