WTF? Put Your Fash Foot Forward w/ Brooch Heels

With our shoes adding the finishing touch to our outfit, it gives us the chance to go for a polished or retro . . . basically any look you are going for. Well, how about a vintage feel to your ensemble? Kitten heels with a brooch detail is a must-try when you are wanting to give off a thrifty vibe to an otherwise plain outfit. There is a difference between out-of-date and old-fashioned; and brooch heels are the perfect shoes to complete a look topped off with a classic twist. With a simple pair of denim jeans and a basic t-shirt, let these thrifty, trendy heels be your statement piece in a pop of color that's right on trend for spring. Or step in them in basic black to pull together a metallic silhouette. These types of heels compliment a chic cardigan quite nicely as well. Brooch heels are a fashion shoe gift given to us by designers such as Badgley Mischka and Martinez Valero and have become the "it" shoe for the fashion forward on the red carpet.

The "F" Word! Flight Suits

Look to the skies and add to your closet an aviator-inspired suit that certainly has made it's way on the catwalk by several well-known designers. With such a loose fitting one-piece suit, you all know by now that the golden rule is to cinch the waist with a belt. Keep the airy trend alive and updated by adding on a scarf and booties as your accessories. With loosely flowing hair swept back and a fresh face with a natural glow, dewy lips and an over-sized handbag are additional stylings highly recommended to allow your take on the trend to soar.

Sitting in the front row of fashion week were a bevy of blue beauties. From cobalt to midnight, from handbags to high heels, blue was bountiful at two Rebecca fashion shows. Blue is a passionate and strong color that can fit flawlessly into any wardrobe no matter the personal style whether it's grungy, sophisticated or edgy. A huge fan of this cool colour? Feel free to expand your outfit with up to two, no more than three different shades of blue.
It has been made painfully obvious that blue is the it colour of the season. It's everywhere in endless shades and in a variety of tones. Dive head first into this trend by having it replace your usual little black dress. There is no doubt that you will be always on top of the latest trends and looks because blue has staying power that will last from season to season. Breaking down this trend just a little bit more, LBlueDresses in cobalt colours are the tones that should be infused into your wardrobe for a look that's absolutely electric. Here are some styling tips to keep your LBlueD up-to-date throughout the entire year: Pair the cobalt frock with black or nude pumps and accessorize with silver or gold jewelry for a undoubtedly chic fall and winter look. For spring and summer, punch it up with vibrant pops of color like yellow, coral or green!

WTF? What's The Fashion? Chevron Prints

There's a popular print out there that has been making waves on the fashion scene. Since Rihanna's red carpet appearance at the Kids' Choice Awards back in 2010 and the launch of the Missoni for Target campaign- this spring, celebrities are wearing the black and white version of a chevron dress swimmingly. Y'all know that one of the things that I love about fashion is that it offers alternatives to trends that maybe unflattering to some. For a modern take on the standard stripes, zig-zag prints in colors that are easier on the eyes are a "gotta-try!" I find them to be worn beautifully and sheerfully on trend-spotter, Elizabeth Olsen and on natural beauty, Jennifer Aniston's petite patterned silhouette. For your personal take on the trend, instead of vivid hues go for the b&w and finish off the look with all black pumps and little to no accessories.

WTF? What's The Fashion? Peplums

I'm Badge Collecting! Let me know in your comments of today's spotlighted style that your blog contains a badge and I will copy/paste it onto the Style~ Spotlighted page. Can't wait to collect and show off your badges! Stay FABulous!!

Fashion has taken a flashback from the 1940s a particular trend that has been shown on the runways from New York Fashion Week and they are not going anywhere. Here to stay is the fitted top with a ruffled, a-line waist to a blouse or dress known as peplum detailing. This feminine, fanned out silhouette mastered by big screen beauty, Blake Lively, adds flare and flounce while hiding those unforgiving midsection areas. Being seen everywhere, peplum dresses and peplum tops are more popular and more versatile since it is capable of being worn with a multitude of bottoms that are straight, narrow and/or fitted. This ladylike look can be given more definition and draw the eye to the standout detail of the outfit by adding a thin belt before the fabric flares out. Add some retro charm by accentuating the trend with rich gem hues like emerald, ruby and royal blue or with demure dark pieces in blacks and charcoals for a mod ensemble that fuses with Chanel.

WTF? What's The Fashion? Orange Blazers

Now, I don't know about you but during these transitional temperatures when the cold is slowly going away but at the same time the heat is slowly coming in, I do not get a chance to enjoy most of those warmer days. Every time the weather is beautiful and warm and the sun is out and shinning bright, I'm stuck inside at work unable to enjoy the natural beauty of the day and the warmth from the sunshine. Well, there is a way for you to bring a little of that sunshine indoors, by way of wearing a delicious orange blazer or jacket. Now while this trend is fun and uplifting, it is far from the traditional. To keep this look office appropriate, remember to style it with classic ensembles. Whites, blacks and nudes are safe but will allow for the orange topper to standout. Dress the blazer for the daytime with a patterned sheath or blouse that has hints of orange. Or take an orange jacket out for a ride at night by creating a cohesive look with a fruity orange lip and a clutch or color-blocked platforms with matching orange tones. However, many like myself, may find this bold hue a little too fruitful. Opt for a more on-trend shade that has been very popular for the past spring and summer seasons: coral.

WTF? What's The Fashion? Luxe Lurex Looks

Luxurious looks ran rampant on the runway at New York Fashion Week and as a shiny alternative to sequins, lurex was the trend throughout many collections for fall. It's a little over-the-top to wear the exuberant fabric from head-to-toe but as a statement piece, I am all for it. To me, seeing these collections overwhelmed me with the thought of the Chirstmas holiday and if I was to ever try and rock this trend, which you all know I actually might do, I would find lurex to be a great option to wear for a nighttime soiree in the form of a cocktail dress or a mini skirt.

You will see below a few pieces from a preview from one of the fall runway collections, Marc Jacobs. At the Marc Jacobs Couture runway show, the designer went on the other end of the spectrum where he merged fashion with theater on a granduleur scale. He also incorporated with his fall collection, a sort of crazy, cartoony Victoriana style that was truly happy and spirit-lifting. With oversized fur hats and non-body-conscious shapes, this fifteen-minute parade was a thrill to watch as it took fashion and radically crossed it over into art.

WTF? What's The Fashion? Delicate Golden Necklaces

Veering away from the statement pendant necklaces, dashing darlings are draping their dècolletage with delicate golden layered necklaces. Thin golden chains are fabulous and classy when worn with a deeply plunged neckline or a blazer 'sans the shirt' underneath. When picking out your gilded accessory, the necklace should consist of no more than two to three strands layered within each other. This type of accessory is so fine that it can be added to a collar necklace for extra gleam. Also a little more of a thicker, chunkier version can cover a tad more skin especially with a top or dress that yields very little to the imagination.
